Businesshug is a Carbon Neutral Company
In October of 2011, we became a carbon neutral company so any resources we use have zero impact on the future of our environment.
Businesshug shows you what's nearby and since 40% of all CO2 emissions* actually comes from our individual daily ordinary activites... from transportation to surfing the web, our goal is to also educate users on which nearby businesses are carbon friendly. Our first step was to become carbon neutral ourselves, lead by example philosophy. This is why we partnered with CO2Ver, an opportunity for everyone to join and help reduce the worlds CO2 emissions for our
future generations.
The CO2Ver project goals are huge and simple; to make a positive difference to people’s lives and that of the planet. How? By taking the carbon offsetting industry out of the hands of big business and empowering people just like you to make a huge difference in our World.
Businesshug is not for nor against global warming because there is simply not enough evidence to support either side. But, we do understand that we are using up the resources of the earth and turning off our lights or using less water will not fully reguvinate the planet. The CO2Ver project focuses on reforestation in remote parts of the world to offset our future CO2 emissions as well as provide jobs to the 3rd world communities. This project allows us to visually see our progress over time and with the help of Oversy it can also be measured to determine its effectiveness.
With 7 billion people on earth by the end of 2011 and 5% of us consuming 23% of the world's energy**, its time for us to look to the future and consider our planet. Our partnership with CO2Ver provides us the opportunity to make a difference for the planet together.
It's time to find that balance and support the planet just like it is supporting us. Small businesses are the heart and soul of every economy and Businesshug soon hopes to give every business owner a way to stimulate the earth back to original health. Together we can make a difference.
